Overview

Frostwatch ("we", "our", "the app") is a Snowflake Native App that provides data observability, cost intelligence, and operational insights. This policy describes how the app handles data within your Snowflake account.

What the App Accesses

Frostwatch reads metadata from the following Snowflake system views within your account:

  • SNOWFLAKE.ACCOUNT_USAGE.TABLES - Table names, owners, row counts, timestamps
  • SNOWFLAKE.ACCOUNT_USAGE.OBJECT_DEPENDENCIES - View-to-table relationships
  • SNOWFLAKE.ACCOUNT_USAGE.ACCESS_HISTORY - Query access patterns
  • SNOWFLAKE.ACCOUNT_USAGE.QUERY_HISTORY - Query performance metrics
  • SNOWFLAKE.ACCOUNT_USAGE.TABLE_STORAGE_METRICS - Storage sizes
  • SNOWFLAKE.ACCOUNT_USAGE.WAREHOUSE_METERING_HISTORY - Warehouse credit usage
  • SNOWFLAKE.ACCOUNT_USAGE.TASK_HISTORY - Task execution status
  • SNOWFLAKE.ACCOUNT_USAGE.COLUMNS - Column metadata

What the App Does NOT Access

  • The contents (rows/values) of your data tables
  • Credentials, secrets, or authentication tokens
  • Personal data beyond Snowflake usernames in access logs
  • Any data outside your Snowflake account

Data Transmission

Frostwatch does not transmit any data outside your Snowflake account. The app runs entirely within Snowflake's infrastructure. There are no external API calls, no telemetry sent to third parties, and no data exfiltration of any kind.

Data Retention

  • The app does not maintain persistent copies of your account metadata.
  • Cached query results are held in memory for up to 10 minutes and are not persisted.
  • Data contracts you define persist until you delete them.

Security

The app operates with the minimum privileges required. All processing occurs within your Snowflake account's security boundary. The app does not create external network connections.

Your Rights

  • You can uninstall the app at any time, which removes all app-internal data.
  • You can revoke the IMPORTED PRIVILEGES grant to immediately cut off metadata access.
  • You can delete individual data contracts through the app interface.
